Role of media
in increasing rate of immoral activities in Pakistan?
Why is
Pakistan (being an Islamic country) ranked the top porn searching nation in the
world?
Unbiased, debate on Imran khan’s recent comment on women’s clothing and hum award dressing controversy .
Prime Minister Imran Khan commented once again on the rising cases of sexual violence in Pakistan, saying that if a woman wears fewer clothes, it will have an impact on men.
However, the prime minister's remarks on temptation and women's dressing went viral on social media. :
'' If a woman is wearing very few clothes it will have an impact, it will have an impact on the men unless they’re robots. I mean it’s common sense……It depends on which society you live in. If in a society where people haven’t seen that sort of thing, it will have an impact on them. This cultural imperialism, whatever is in our culture, must be acceptable to everyone else, it’s not. It is such nonsense. I never said veils, this was never said. I said the concept of purdah and the concept of purdah is to avoid temptation in society. We don’t have discos here, we don’t have nightclubs, so it is a completely different society, way of life here, so if you raise temptation in society to the point and all these young guys have nowhere to go, it has consequences in the society.''
And the recent debate on hum awards in Lahore .Many models wore dresses that were not acceptable by many people .This situation raised many questions which are discussed as :
In the last two decades with advancement in the media
industry and increasing social media platforms, we have noticed a great change
in the behaviors of the young generation and their priorities, their morals, their
ethics, shortly in their whole lifestyle.
But does this change suit our norms, morals, and culture ? Does Islam as 98 % of people have their religion in Pakistan, permit this lifestyle.
NOTICABLE CHANGES IN YOUNG GENERATION :
With time we have noticed the following changes in new
generations.
· >routine of sleep and waking up has
changed
· >Privacy demand increase
· >Use of the internet and tv increased
· > The family system is going to end
· >Coping of western Dressing style
· > Branded accessories are becoming the need
· > The mindset of children and teenagers have
changed and early maturity
· > Less focus on education and more on social media
· > The demand for instant fame by cheap means
· >Money is becoming more important than capability
and respect
· > The rate of rape in teenagers is increasing
· > The screen has snatched all original beauty from
our society
· > The complexity of color, financial status, fashionable,
social rank, language is cutting the
roots of our culture
· > Mental slavery of western culture
· > Unethical fashion
· >Fakeness is at its peak
· > Early puberty and late marriages
· >The difference between rich and poor is
increasing day by day and the middle class have been crushed in this situation
This is the nature of a human that it learns from the things that he sees, listens, observes, feels, and tries to copy all these things. Now if a child will see the vulgarity on-screen either mobile or tv he or she will try to copy it.
Yes, this is the responsibility
of parents to keep children away from these thing but there is a limit of
inspection in a much spread media system.
I am talking about Pakistani media which can not be ignored in Pakistan. Media in the face of any country.it represents the whole nation their norms, their culture, their morals. Media sets the trend and mindset, which is followed by the public. So Media should be the main object which should be used to train people and building a nation.
CHANGES IN MEDIA
· >Actors are not artists now ….they only
attract people by their physical
appearance, not by their art of acting
· >The western dressing is increasing day by day
showing a high-level complexity of their culture.
· > Content quality going down, no focus on story …just
sale material by hook or crook.
· > Basic Islamic restrictions are not being
followed in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
· . Advertisements do not relate to 90 %of the Pakistani
public, in trying to be unique they ignore public demand.
· > Lack of creative stories as the same topic
repeats in every drama
· > Decency and Islamic ethics have gone in coping with
western culture
· > Obsession of western culture and feel the shame
of own culture
· > Nudeness is common,
· > New advancements in technology and science, education,
and many other fields are ignored
· > Focus on highlighting bad things of society but
positive things are ignored
· > Actors and public figures make their lifestyle
luxurious and share it on its peak level which produces complex in public
· > Very little material for children and teenagers
We have to understand basic things so we can take steps to
corrects the loopholes of our media industry.
Fashion is a term that typically applies to a predominant method of expression, yet regularly applies to an individual method of expression that could conceivably apply to all. Innate in the term is the possibility that the mode will change more rapidly than the way of life all in all. The expressions "stylish" and "unfashionable" are utilized to depict whether a person or thing finds a place with the current mainstream method of articulation. The expression "design" is regularly utilized from an inspirational outlook, as an equivalent word for charm and style.
Today's style represented a test to some Muslim youth since the design is seen as Western or Christian and doesn't uphold Islamic lessons, practices, and convictions. Since Quran is on the side of apparel and embellishment, learning style as a Muslim understudy would assist with realizing how to hide the private parts and know the appropriate method of Islamic dressing. That, however, will likewise instruct them on the choice of fitting texture for apparel and the motivation behind wearing an article of clothing. It will likewise help them realize how to mix and utilize components and standards of plan in a piece of clothing making just as choices.
Islam makes it haram for ladies to wear garments that
neglect to cover the body and which are straightforward, uncovering what is
under. It is moreover haram to wear firmly fitting garments which outline the
pieces of the body, particularly those parts which are physically alluring. For
models, stockings have gotten normal among women.
Islam has, be that as it may, disallowed two sorts of
enhancement for men while allowing them to ladies. These are, first, gold
trimmings and, second, clothing made of unadulterated silk. Men selection of
style ought not to look like apparel worn by ladies
U under the Islamic moral framework, it's anything but passable to utilize enthusiastic requests, sex claims, utilization of heartfelt language, utilization of half skirt ladies, and youthful model young ladies in publicizing efforts to please and draw in clients to augment benefits and increment portion of the overall industry. Such sorts of special exercises are false, misleading, and exploitative, and are offensive to the soul of Shari'ah.
It is common sense if I love
an actor or an actress, if I love a pop star, if I love a footballer, I would
like to wear the things that he wears. And that is why they pay millions of
dollars to get the royalties to have an athlete wear a certain brand because
they know the impact on the viewers or on the fans of that athlete.
So they are willing to pay millions of dollars
just for him to wear their logo. And among the reasons that people follow
fashion blindly is that people have a defect. They have weaknesses in their
personalities and they would like to hide these shortcomings by following the
fashion so that people would think they are cool or sophisticated not knowing
that people are not impressed by the outer shell. They are impressed by the
content, by what is inside. Mind set of public should be changed .
All should know that they have their own identity and culture which they should follow .Self respect should be increased.
A proper Muslim is not impressed by fashion and he does not follow fashion blindly. A proper Muslim wears good clothes, wears clean clothes, wears decent clothes that protect his identity and identity for a Muslim is extremely important.
Solution suggested :
Some steps should be taken by the government and
media industry and public figures.
· >Story of programs, dramas,
movies should have diverse topics as education, science, charity, etc
· >Section of children
entertainment needs a lot of attention
· > A dress code should be
defined by the government and Pamera to wear on tv and other shows
· >Award shows dressings
and social media dressings should be focused
· >Government should admire
and give respect to other fields and promote them on social media platforms and
other media platforms to inspire the young generation
· > As a public figure, this
is the responsibility of actors to be within ethical limits, and if they claim
that this is their personal life they can do anything so they should keep their
personal life personal don’t share it.
· >Social media plate forms
should use to promotes intelligent figures and developmental work in all sectors
and fields.
· > Some unwanted and unethical
social media platforms should be banned as TikTok.
· >Government should launch
some local social media pate form according to the needs of the local public.
· > Designers are a great
part of this industry, they should promote our culture and should not influence
by western culture.
· > Islamic dressing And Islamic
culture should be more promoted in films and dramas.
· >Historical dramas should
be made with the right cultural background.
Basic problems in taking these steps :
The biggest excuse of the industry behind these
problems is that:
Now the public is not interested in educational or other dry stories …they need commercial material to enjoy .So if they suddenly come on Islamic and morally strong material it will decrease their viewers and advertisement So eventually their profit will decrease.
to tackle this situation higher personals of industry should understand some things as :
As a drug addict when missing his dose he feels
pain …same the public will show some restlessness in absence of that material
but slowly they will start seeing the good and ethical material. So after loosing viewers for some time they will attract public again .They will face a little bit of shortage of profit but this is a very less cost of distraction of our nation in other case .
As if we look back our drama industry of the 90s
was very famous and very great appreciated in the whole world. Drams were very
amazing within the ethical, moral, and Islamic limits.
And now the great example of Dirilis Artugral's
popularity, clarify all excuses and reveal that the Pakistani nation loves its
moral values and Islamic Background so the increasing western culture is not accepted.
